Field Notes: Spring farm to table dining Sonoma County

Spring is a time of fleeting beauty, nowhere more so than in our Healdsburg farm to table dining world when we only have a small window to make the most of what we dig out of the ground at barndiva farm in Philo and transform in unique wine country culinary experiences for guests dining in Studio Barndiva, our downtown restaurant in Healdsburg. The arrival of garlic scapes, wild ramps, and a bounty of edible spring flowers from our gardens showed up all of May in cocktails, new dishes and stunning floral arrangements. As we head into summer, the local farm to table bounty will keep coming with locally sourced ingredients from Sonoma.

Studio Barndiva is one of the few Healdsburg restaurants with garden dining where we can start you off on the couches with a drink before moving you to a dining table outside or shift you inside to the art filled gallery space. We strive to be as flexible as the weather. Our gardens are dog and family friendly. If a cool studio vibe is what you hanker after, please reserve, as walk-in spaces are limited.

With the profusion of spring and early summer florals coming down from the farm, our bartenders Danny and Buck are having a (literal) field day crafting floral, NA and spirited cocktails that resonate with the seasons’ bright notes. Just around the corner, wine director Emily Carlson will present The Local Pour, just a little bit more from some of her favorite Sonoma County producers. Stay tuned.
