Brundlmayer Grüner Veltliner Kamptaler Terraces, Kamptal 2017 $18

Weingut Bründlmayer is situated in Langenlois, some 70km north-west of Vienna, upstream along the Danube in the Lower Austrian Kamp Valley. Some of the most geologically diverse terroirs in Europe are in Austria in the heart of the Kamptal which create an intriguing site to grow Grüner Veltliner. Grüner Veltliner is undoubtedly the flagship grape of Austria, and still a varietal that is relatively rare in California.  This wine is flowery,  with delicate lime fruit, apple and pineapple with a hint of herbs, spice and yeast, soft at first taste, despite its lively acidity, then straightforward, fresh on the palate, sappy fruit, mineral nuances, good structure and balance, medium body and fine minerals in the spicy finish.

Troupis  Moschofilero Fteri 2015 $17

Troupis Winery is located in the heart of Mantinia, which is in the Peloponnese region of Greece, at an altitude of 700 meters in the region of Fteri or “fern”. Tasos Troupis, and his his children, has created a production and wine-making facility by putting to good use the experience and love he has for the vine. The continental climate together with the soils of the high Mantinia plain, which are a well drained and clay-rocky lead to the production of exciting, aromatic white wines. The Moschofilero grape is unique to Greece and incredible exciting to us. It’s an incredibly aromatic grape but with amazing freshness, spice notes and mouthwatering finish. We love to discover something that is totally different!
